I don’t have a favorite artist but my music would have to come down to hip-hop and R&B.

How can we most authentically celebrate Black History Month?

I would say for Triller to continue to push its initiatives to support Black creators and give them a voice within this industry.

Who were some of the Black cultural icons that inspired you?

As a young person growing up, some of the cultural icons that inspired me were older family members. But some better-known ones include Muhammad Ali and Martin Luther King Jr.

Who is your favorite Black author?

My favorite Black author would be Langston Hughes. I did a lot of research on him when I was younger.

What is your favorite movie portraying the Black experience?

“Stomp the Yard.” I think that’s a great movie that displays the HBCU experience.

What are some of your favorite events that celebrate being Black?

I’d say cookouts are definitely number one. And coming close to that would have to be family reunions. It’s always fun getting together as Black families.
